Bruce and Joy Wisbey started Wisbey Veggies as a small roadside stand off the highway. As a husband and wife team, Bruce did the farming while Joy ran the store. Over the years it grew and evolved into a large country style store that remained at our current location until 2015. In the beginning of the 2015 season Wisbey’s had a devastating fire that left nothing except their classic truck untouched. Joy Wisbey decided it was time to retire after the fire. With the crops still planted and no store, the produce would go to waste.
Michelle Campbell had been working for Wisbey’s for 8 years along with her father Brian Eklund who worked on the farm for Bruce. They offered the Wisbey’s help to sell the crops left in their field for the year and built a small roadside stand. It took off and did better than expected despite the loss, and has continued to grow ever since. Michelle brought in her husband, Sean after the first year and they now work as a husband-wife duo running the store. After the first couple years, Bruce decided it was time for him to take a step back and retire as well, so Brian Eklund took over the farming side of things for him.
